Sally Klingensmith 1937-2025
SARASOTA, Fla. — Sally Wilson Klingensmith, 88, formerly of Youngstown, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2025. She was born May 8, 1937, to Sara and Charles Wilson.
Sally graduated from Bowling Green State University with a B.S. in education and obtained an M.S. in guidance and counseling at Youngstown State University. She taught for two years at Springfield Local High School and spent the remaining 29 years of her career teaching at Canfield High School, retiring in 1993. She taught business classes and was one of the first to teach computer courses after assisting in setting up the Canfield High School Computer Lab.
Sally enjoyed traveling with her friends, chaperoned Canfield students touring Spain and explored much of the U.S. in an RV with family. She also stayed in touch with her 1955 Boardman High School classmates and had great times at their reunions. Later in life, she developed a love for golf and participated in multiple leagues along with old and new friends.
She is survived by her son, Scott; daughter, Kathy; nephews, Mike and Pat O’Horo and their families; and niece, Tracy Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia O’Horo; brother, Charles Wilson; and ex-husband, Leigh Klingensmith.
An informal celebration of life luncheon for Sally will be noon to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2025, at Michael Alberini’s Restaurant in Boardman.
