Ronald Jayne Sr. 1943-2025

BOARDMAN — Ronald Clarke Jayne Sr., 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025.

Ron was born July 8, 1943, in Struthers, the son of the late Dale and Betty Snyder Jayne. He graduated from Struthers High School in 1961 and attended Youngstown State University.

Ron was a devoted provider and took great pride in caring for his family. He did this through a professional career lasting his entire lifetime. His career included more than 43 years dedicated to the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, followed by 24 years with the former B.J. Alan Fireworks, which later became Phantom Fireworks. Ron genuinely loved his work, from his earliest careers as a librarian and a milkman and the opportunity they provided him to support his growing family.

He was a loving father to Ronald (Lori) Jayne Jr. of Moundsville, W.Va., Michelle (Mark) Corll of Canfield, Randy (Holly) Jayne of Columbiana, Joanna (Steve) Turnbull of Salem, Jason Jayne of East Palestine and Jeanna (Angel) Ortiz of Struthers. His career also helped support a remarkable legacy of compassion, as Ron and his former spouse, the late Patricia Rosenberger Jayne, opened their home and hearts to more than 57 foster children over many of their 49 years of marriage.

Later in life, Ron was encouraged to enjoy traveling. These trips included time spent in Florida visiting his brother, the late Larry (Joan) Jayne of Melbourne.

Ron is also survived by his sister, Janet (Bill) Sandy of Poland, along with 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many extended family members, friends and all those whose lives he touched through his generosity, work ethic and quiet devotion to family.

Family and friends may call 5 to 6:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers. There will be a memorial service celebrating Ron’s life to follow at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please donate on Ron’s behalf to a charity of your choice in support of those less fortunate.
