WHAT: Board of Education meeting on Tuesday

PRESENT: Beth Donofrio, Judy Gozur, Gary Bednarik, Tony Kelly, Tina Tsagaris, Treasurer Nora J. Montanez and Superintendent Matthew Bowen

The board:

•Approved financial reports and payment of bills as presented by the treasurer.

•Approved the Expenditure Reduction Written Plan Narrative prepared in response to the requirement to eliminate the projected deficit and achieve a positive cash balance by fiscal year 2028.

•Accepted the William Swanston Charitable Fund Grant for the fourth quarter in the amount of $10,000.

•Accepted a donation of $500 from Operation Keepsake to the Campbell Memorial High School principal’s fund.

vApproved the recommendations of the Construction Manager at Risk for subcontractors for Ellet Sign Company, Campbell Health and Community Development Center signage, Benco Dental Supply Co. and Dental Design Services.

•Approved a service agreement addendum between the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments and Campbell City Schools to increase the compensation terms of the existing career counseling services agreement by $700 from the original fee of $9,260,

•Approved an annual service agreement with Hank’s Sales & Service for the HP M605N Laser Printer in the amount of $475.

•An agreement between Campbell City Schools and Benco Dental Supply Co. for design services at the Campbell Health and Community Development Center effective Dec. 11.

•Approved the following appointments: Lea Tursack, Licensed Practical Nurse for the K-6 Building, at $20.13 per hour; and Jordan Cruz, volunteer chaperone for the Bright Futures Program.

•Approved the formation / continuation of the following clubs for students, with the club leader being paid $15 per hour: Margo Martinez, Math Club; Nereida McDowell, Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Ryan Kish, Cinema Club; Darlene Basista, Cinema Club; Ryan Kish, English Festival Club; Alaina Rauber, English Festival Club; Carolyn Stanyard, Piano Club; and Suzanne Stoddart, Dungeons & Dragons Club.

•Approved the following appointments: Angeliz Diaz, girls’ ninth grade basketball coach, $3,252.32; Anthony Pecchia, volunteer intramural soccer coach for grades 4-6; Janira Vazquez Drohin, substitute student monitor (bus aide) at $12.50 per hour; and Linda Dattilo, substitute cook’s helper at $11.53 per hour.

•Approved providing family memberships to the Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center to all district faculty.

•Approved out-of-state travel to Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., on Feb. 16 for the Bright Futures Discovery Day.

•Accepted the resignation of Jordan Cruz from the position of STNA at the K-6 building and the resignation of Linda Dattilo from the classified position of cook’s helper.
