Mark J. Geisler 1956-2025

CANFIELD — Mark J. Geisler, 69, passed away Saturday afternoon, Dec. 20, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family, following a battle with bladder cancer.

He was born Feb. 7, 1956, in Pittsburgh, a son of Regis P. and Margaret Hughes Geisler.

Mark was a 1974 graduate of Chelmsford High School in Massachusetts, and he attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, achieving a degree in aeronautical engineering.

He then worked for Textron Aviation for more than 20 years, prior to retiring in May of this year.

He married the former Mary A. Kale on March 31, 1979. Together they shared 46 years of marriage and many happy memories. She survives him.

Mark was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Canfield. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed restoring classic vehicles. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he dearly loved. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his wife, Mark is survived by three children, Mark (Kathryn) Geisler of Canfield, Sarah (Jonathan) Hansen of Orange, Connecticut, and Daniel (Charity) Geisler of Canfield. He also leaves behind a brother, Regis (Ann) Geisler of Poland; two sisters, Elizabeth (William) Gallina, of Pittsburgh and Patricia (Karl) Stratemeier of Bakersfield, California; his stepmother, Jeannette Geisler of Muncie, Indiana; and five beloved grandchildren, Allison, Emma, Paige, Anna and Henry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepbrother, David Knight.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at North Berlin Cemetery, state Route 534, Berlin Center.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at the Lane Funeral Home Canfield Chapel, 65 N. Broad St., Canfield.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mark’s memory to the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN), under the Mark Geisler family.
