Elizabeth J. Barko 1956-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — Elizabeth Jane Barko, fondly known as “Beth,” 69, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, surrounded by her brothers and the love of her life, Anthony “Tony” Gagliardi.
Beth was born Nov. 11, 1956, to Eugene Barko and Emily Barko. She spent her early years living in Florida. She moved to Ohio in her late teens.
Beth spent many years working at Union National Bank, which later became Bank One. Subsequently, Beth switched over to medical equipment sales.
Beth attended Youngstown State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Beth was smart, honest, hardworking, fun and funny. She was a person to whom the right thing came naturally. Beth had more people who loved and cherished her than many of us have casual friends. She loved cats and had many over the years, leaving her last, Zak, to her friend, Karen.
Several years ago, Beth and a group of her friends started following local bands to dance to their music. It was here that Beth met the love of her life (and his), Tony Gagliardi. It was a joy to see them interact with each other because the love was so apparent.
Beth was predeceased by her grandparents, parents and stepbrother, Michael Jaminet.
Left to mourn her loss are her brothers, Paul Barko and Thomas Barko; sister, Jennifer Jaminet and her children; stepsisters, Michelle Jaminet, Susan Jaminet and Sheri Scarborough; best friend, Karen H. Brouse; and her love, Tony Gagliardi.
Condolences may be sent to 606 Pierce Drive, Youngstown, OH 44511. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no calling hours.
