Dennis Blisard 1957-2025

Born Aug. 26, 1957, in Youngstown, Dennis was the son of the late Roy and Mary Louise Gingery Blisard.

He was a 1975 graduate of Boardman High School and remained a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley, where he built a life centered around family, community and the things he loved most.

Dennis had a deep appreciation for music and movies. From classic rock to hidden gems, he listened to just about every genre, with a special love for The Beatles. He was also an avid movie enthusiast who could name actors throughout decades of film and recall their roles with encyclopedic ease.

His passion for local history led him to create and organize a Facebook group dedicated to stock car racing in Canfield, preserving and sharing the history of the Canfield Speedway with others who shared his enthusiasm.

On game days, Dennis could often be found cheering on the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Guardians, faithfully supporting his hometown teams.

Dennis is survived by his sister, Diane L. Varner of Tiffin; his brother, Gary J. Blisard of Poland; two nieces and two nephews; and his three great-nieces and three great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William H. Varner; and sister-in-law, Patricia A. Blisard.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.

Arrangements are being handled by Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
