Anthony R. Polombi 1951-2025
NORTH LIMA — Anthony R. Polombi, 74, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born Feb. 20, 1951, in Youngstown, he was the son of the late Bernard and Yolanda Miladore Polombi. Anthony was a 1969 graduate of Struthers High School.
On Sept. 19, 1975, he married the love of his life, Helen “Cookie” Metzinger Polombi, and together they shared 50 beautiful years of marriage.
Anthony spent most of his life as the proud owner of Anthony’s Home Improvement, where he enjoyed meeting new people and was known for his gift of conversation — he could strike up a friendly chat with anyone he met.
He found his greatest joy in being with his family. Sundays often meant gathering around the table for his famous pasta and sauce, and Christmas Eve was devoted to the cherished tradition of the Feast of Seven Fishes. Anthony also loved tending to his vegetable garden, cheering on the Cleveland Browns and relaxing while listening to his favorite music.
Above all, Anthony treasured his role as a loving husband, dad and papa.
In addition to his wife, Cookie, he is survived by his two children, Michael R. (Jennifer) Polombi (SFC, USA) of Greenwood, Indiana, and Nicole (Thomas) Strain of Canton; his five beloved grandchildren, Anthony M. Polombi, Colin J. Polombi, Gina M. Strain, Thomas P. Strain III and Alexander G. Polombi; and his sister, Janyce (James) Lawrence of Boardman.
Calling hours will be 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, with military honors to follow, at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman.
