Victoria A. Yukon 1927-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Victoria Amelia Yukon passed away Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.

She was born April 7, 1927, in Girard, to Michael and Victoria Ukropetz.

Victoria grew up in Girard, graduating from Girard High School in 1945.

She joined John P. Yukon in marriage at St. Rose Catholic Church on June 12, 1948. After honeymooning in Miami, Florida, they settled in Girard. In 1958, Vicky and her husband, John, built their home and moved to Liberty Township, where they raised their children, James and Linda.

She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Youngstown for more than 60 years. Victoria enjoyed bowling with the church league in the 1960s and also volunteered as a room mom for St. Edward’s School, which her children attended.

Victoria began working for Packard Electric in 1965 in Warren and eventually transferred to their plant in Austintown. She remained with Packard Electric for 25 years, retiring in 1990.

Vicky enjoyed baking, especially for Easter and Christmas. Every strawberry season meant many fresh strawberry pies and strawberry shortcakes. She returned to bowling later in the 1990s, when she and her husband, John, joined local leagues.

She leaves behind her loving daughter, Linda (John) Leonard; granddaughter, Jennifer (David) Major; and great-grandchildren, Alexander, Lauren and David, all of St. Cloud, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, in 2014, and son, James, in 2022. Also preceding her in death were her older siblings, Michael Ukropetz, Stephanie (Stella) Jacobson and Katherine Ukropetz.

The family will receive relatives and friends 10 to 10:55 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at St. Edward Church, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Monsignor Robert Siffrin, along with a nephew of Mrs. Yukon, the Rev. Dennis Hrubiak.

The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, that contributions may be made to Angels for Animals, 4570 W. South Range Road, Canfield, OH 44406.
