Timothy S. Williams 1962-2025

COLUMBUS — Timothy S. Williams, 63, formerly of Brookfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 7, 1962, in Youngstown, he was the son of the late Howard and Virginia Lickner Williams.

Tim was a 1980 graduate of Ursuline High School. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in political science from Clarion University, his master’s degree in criminal justice from Youngstown State University and his Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School.

Tim dedicated 22 years of his career to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serving in numerous distinguished roles. He began as a member of the SWAT Team in Chicago and later worked in Washington, D.C., on the Attorney General Protection Detail for Janet Reno and John Ashcroft. He also served as unit chief of the FBI Special Events Management Unit, coordinating security for major national and international events. Before retiring, Tim was the supervisory special agent managing the Domestic Terrorism Squad in Pittsburgh. He was the director of safety and security at Heinz Field and then the Columbus Academy.

Following his retirement from federal service, Tim continued his commitment to public safety, working for the city of Columbus as a management analyst II and deputy director of public safety.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Marlene Molnar Williams; their three daughters, Amanda, Cassie and Alexis; sister-in-law, Kim Lickner; and nephews, Michael and Shawn.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Lickner.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.

Tim was laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
