Ted B. Briggs 1970-2025

APPOMATTOX, Va. — Ted “Teddy” Brian Briggs, 55, of Appomattox, Virginia, passed away on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at UVA Medical Center.

He was born on May 10, 1970, in Warren, to William E. “Bill” Briggs and Barbara Hubble Briggs. The family moved to Virginia, where he graduated from Appomattox County High School in 1989.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served as a combat engineer. Ted was known for his unwavering dedication and service to his country.

After his military service, he went on to found and operate, for over 30 years, Briggs Tree Service, where he made many lasting friendships along the way.

Ted had a passion for Civil War artifacts and loved spending time exploring and discovering pieces of history.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Cody and Kasey Briggs; granddaughters, Lennon and Oakley Briggs; brother, Tim Briggs; niece and nephews, Hannah, Harrison and Holden Briggs; as well as his companion, Vicky Mobley. Ted also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.

Ted was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Edna Briggs of Berlin Center, Dee Hubble Sr. and Mildred Hubble; three uncles, Dee Hubble Jr., Patrick Hubble Sr., and a special uncle, Jeff “Bo” Hubble; and his beloved dog, “Mighty Max.”

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Carlos Malave, with a private burial to follow in Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home.
