Margaret H. Swansiger 1933-2025

Margaret was born in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Clement and Pauline Kleine Smreck. She was a graduate of Wilson High School and worked for many years as a sales clerk for Strouss Department Store.

She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish-St. Matthias Church.

Margaret enjoyed spending time with family and visiting her neighbors who were so kind and helpful to her. She also belonged to the Byzantine Social Club and Altar and Rosary at Infant Jesus of Prague Church in Boardman.

Margaret is survived by three stepchildren, Mark (Sandee) Swansiger, Laurie (Mike) Herceg and Paul (Alorah) Swansiger; her sister, Tillie Chachko; step-grandchildren, James and Greg Herceg, and Carol and Sam Swansiger; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Barnes and Magdaline Koziel; and a brother, Clement (Jeff) Smreck.

Friends will be received 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish-St. Matthias Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., also at the church.

Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.

There is no procession to the cemetery.
