Leon Stennis Jr. 1971-2025
BOARDMAN — Leon Stennis Jr., 54, departed this life at 6:02 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, residing for many years at Gateways to Better Living Boardman because of his disability.
He was born May 19, 1971, in Youngstown, the son of Leon Sr. and Juanita Briggs Stennis.
Leon enjoyed listening to music.
He leaves to mourn, his father, Leon Stennis Sr., PhD, of Columbus; two sisters, Ms. Leenisha J. Stennis and Mrs. Pamela L. (Brandon Sr.) Stennis Sarratt, both of Columbus; one nephew, Brandon Sarratt Jr., and one niece, Miss Brea Sarratt, both of Columbus; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Briggs Stennis; stepmother, Cheryl Hutchins Stennis; and grandparents.
Private services were held at noon Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Chapel, with calling hours 11 a.m. to noon.
Burial took place in Tod Homestead Cemetery.
Arrangements of comfort were handled by the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Funeral Home.
