Kathleen A. Suzelis 1981-2025
MARS, Pa. — Kathleen Anne Suzelis, 44, passed away peacefully into eternal rest, Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at her family home in Lake Milton, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 27, 1981, in Ravenna, a daughter of Leonard J. Suzelis and Kay A. Brison Suzelis.
Kathleen, Katie or Kate, as she was often known to her friends and family, graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in the Class of 1999 and studied graphic design at Kent State University before working at the Cadle Company in Newton Falls for 11 years. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in professional engineering in 2014 and became a licensed senior engineer (SE), a credential that is more than what is required to practice in most states. Kate worked at the engineering firm, Barber and Hoffman in Cranberry, Pa., for 10 years, and she lived in Mars, Pa.
She loved to dance, laugh and spend time with friends and family. Kate enjoyed a wide variety of music, loved to be outside to kayak or hike and see live shows. She was kind, generous and creative with many talents and hobbies that included drawing, painting, woodworking and welding. Kate created her own furniture, enjoyed art and loved to travel, including her most recent trip to Peru and Bali.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Anna Wanda Suzelis, formerly of Newton Falls, and Norman Edwin Brison of Saxonburg, Pa.
In the days leading up to her death, she was surrounded by her beloved family and friends, including her parents, Kay and Len Suzelis, Nadia, Nathan and Josiah Rose, Natalie Suzelis, Nicholas Suzelis and Alicia Hull, and her dear friend, Amanda Reed.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Karen Terlecki of Patriot Hospice for her kind attention to Kate and her family.
Cremation has taken place.
