James F. Michelini 1945-2025
CAMPBELL — James F. Michelini, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
James was born Jan. 9, 1945, in Youngstown, a son of Guido and Ann Centofanti Michelini.
He was a 1963 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School, where he was on the baseball team.
James was a lifelong resident of Campbell. He was a reservist with the Ohio National Guard.
James married the love of his life, the former Mary Diane O’Hara, on Feb. 4, 1967, and they shared 58 years of marriage.
James worked as an electrician for U.S. Steel Ohio Works until its closing in the mid 1980s. He then went on to work for the Ohio Turnpike Commission until his retirement in 2010.
He was of the Catholic faith, a member of St. Angela Merici Parish and a trustee for the former St. Elizabeth Church.
James was an avid Cleveland sports team fan. He enjoyed cooking and baking, especially banana and zucchini bread. He truly loved spending time with his children and being Papa to his grandchildren.
James will be deeply missed and always remembered by his wife, Diane; his children, Lisa (Ron) Osiniak and Steven (Suzanne) Michelini, both of Campbell; grandchildren, Isabella, Carli and Rocco; his sister, Priscilla Turscak of Campbell; a host of nieces and nephews, with whom he had a special bond and loved dearly; and his granddogs, Milo and Buckeye.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by an infant daughter, Michelle Lynn Michelini.
The Michelini family has entrusted James’ care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, at the funeral home.
A prayer service will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Angela Merici Parish.
James will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
