David W. Krepps 1941-2025
NEW MIDDLETOWN — David Wilson Krepps, 84, passed away Saturday, Nov.15, 2025, at Assumption Village.
David was born April 15, 1941, in Youngstown, a son of the late Clyde and Winifred Krepps.
David attended Warren Richey Grade School and East High School. As a young boy, he delivered the Youngstown Vindicator for many years on the East Side of Youngstown.
David went on to serve in the U.S. Army from January 1961 to December 1963. He was stationed in Munich, Germany, and Fort Hood, Texas, before being honorably discharged. David kept in touch with several Army buddies for many years and organized a 50th-year anniversary in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
He received his stationary engineer license in 1968. His career was spent with the Youngstown Board of Education for nine years, the U.S. Steel Ohio Works until its closing, and finally, as a stationary engineer at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, retiring after 20 years.
In his free time, David loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, traveling and his annual trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and looked forward to watching the race on Sundays.
David is survived by his wife, Patricia Nagy Krepps; daughter, Nancy (Lincoln) Bergeron; son, David A. (Leona) Krepps; stepchildren, Christopher (Melissa) Cannon, Donald (Chrystal) Cannon and Carolyn (Sam) DiSalvo; sister, Helen Urbach; grandchildren, Scott Krepps, Cathy Kraft, Riley Sweder, and Catie and Christopher Cannon; and several great-grandchildren.
David was also preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond Krepps, Ruth Kennedy, Audrey Krepps, Patrick Krepps and Jimmy Krepps.
David requested private services and interment in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
