Clara Mae Rummel 1935-2025

She was born Jan. 12, 1935, in Bluefield, W.Va., the daughter of William and Flora Elizabeth Aust Starkey.

A spunky soul and a hardworking lady, Clara worked in housekeeping at Cafaro (Youngstown Osteopathic) Hospital.

When she was younger, she loved to travel and did flea markets around the country, going as far as California, Arizona and New Mexico. She loved to go fishing and shopping. In later years, you would find her at the Austintown Senior Center or at the racino.

Precious memories of Clara live on with her three sons, Ray Gibson of Oregon, Roger Gibson (Jodi) of Cocoa Beach, Florida, and David Rummel of Austintown; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her daughter, Kay Gibson; three sons: Alvin Gibson, and Steve and Mike Rummel; her granddaughter; and her sister, Dora Carlan and her family. Services are private.
