Charles P. Pretoka 1943-2025

AUSTINTOWN — Charles P. Pretoka, departed this life Thursday, Nov. 13, 2025, at the age of 82.
Born April 15, 1943, in Youngstown, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Vukich Pretoka.
A proud graduate of Chaney High School in 1961, Charles furthered his education at Youngstown State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 1973.
He dedicated his career to the art of tailoring and style, serving as a men’s suit retailer at esteemed establishments such as Joseph A. Bank, Hart Schaffner Marx and Dillard’s. His keen eye for fashion and his commitment to customer service left a lasting impact on many.
Beyond his professional achievements, Charles was a man of many talents. He found great joy in music, sharing his love for the guitar and banjo with those around him. An avid golfer, he relished the opportunity to hit the links with friends. Above all, Charles cherished the moments spent with his loved ones. His greatest joy came from the laughter and love he shared with his family.
Charles is survived by his nephew, Brian Pretoka of Austintown; a niece, Kim (Mike) Cost of Niles; two great-nieces, Brittany (Nate) Allshouse of Boardman and Sara (Ryan) Cox of Lordstown; two great-great-nieces, Jacklynn and Peyton Allshouse; and a great-great-nephew, James Cox.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Deborah Brothers
Private family services will be held for Charles at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
