Bertha T. Bartos 1933-2025
CAMPBELL — Bertha T. Bartos, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at Hospice House in Poland.
Bertha was born May 15, 1933, at her family home in Campbell, a daughter of John and Pauline Paluch Smiley.
She was a 1951 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and was a lifelong resident of the Campbell area.
Bertha married the love of her life, Edward Bartos, on Aug. 20, 1960; they shared 59 years of marriage until his passing on June 17, 2019.
Bertha was a homemaker for many years and previously worked as a secretary at Mahoning National Bank until retiring in 1995. She also previously worked for Coca-Cola.
She was of the Catholic faith, and her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a lifelong member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Campbell. Bertha was a member of the Ladies Guild at the former St. John Church. She was also a member of Infant Jesus of Prague and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was in a bowling league and a member of the senior citizens club.
Bertha enjoyed trips to the casino, playing the lottery, weekly card club with her friends and bus trips with the senior citizens. She enjoyed baking, especially for her family and friends. Above all, she cherished and loved her family.
Bertha will be deeply missed and always remembered by her children, Edward (Susan) Bartos of Hudson, Paula (Mark) Turnbull of Poland and Patricia (Albert) Huzicka of Lake Milton; her grandchildren, Amanda (Mark) Dewar, Lindsay (John) Lesko, Victoria (fiance, Eli) Bartos, Tiffany (Jonathon) Turjonis, Mark (Allyson) Turnbull, Courtney (Patrick) Todd, Michael (Haley) Turnbull, Tyler Huzicka and Spenser (Sarah) Huzicka; and great-grandchildren, Layla, Alyssa, Tatum, Emmett, Ashton, Owen, Easton, Luca, Marco, Alora, Stella and Mila.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; and her sisters, Mary Margosiak and Edna Duraney.
The Bartos family has entrusted Bertha’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell. Calling hours will be 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish in Campbell, followed at 10 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by the Rev. Tom Kraszewski.
Bertha will be laid to rest in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
