William T. Halloran Jr. 1953-2025

BOARDMAN — William T. Halloran Jr., 72, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, Oct. 12, 2025.

William was born May 30, 1953, in Youngstown, the son of William T. Sr. and Mary Kirkner Halloran.

Bill worked as a conductor for over 20 years with the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie (P&LE) and Cuyahoga Valley Railroad companies. When he wasn’t working at the railroad, he used his skills as a handyman. He enjoyed doing odd jobs and helping others with whatever they needed done.

His great sense of humor made everyone smile. Bill loved visiting Mill Creek Park and spending time at Geneva-on-the-Lake.

Bill attended St. Dominic School, Cardinal Mooney High School and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School.

Bill will be remembered lovingly by his daughter, Heather (Sean McDonald) Halloran; son, James Halloran; and their mother, Darlene Halloran; a grandson, Justin Halloran; six siblings, Judith Kimmel, Maureen Halloran-Morley, James (Carole) Halloran, Michael (Gail) Halloran, Pat (Paul) Taormina and Molly McCreary; many loving nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Munchkin.

Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by an infant brother and two brothers-in-law, Cecil Kimmel and Chuck McCreary.

The family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the staff of Sanctuary Hospice for the compassionate care given to Bill.

Friends and family may call 10 to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025, at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave., Boardman, to be followed by Words of Remembrance at 11:45 a.m.
