Suzanne K. Erickson 1952-2025
AUSTINTOWN — Suzanne Kay “Suzie” Erickson, 72, passed away early Saturday morning, Oct. 25, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.
Suzie was born Dec. 1, 1952, and spent her childhood on Youngstown’s North Side, growing up on Outlook Avenue and attending Rayen High School, where she was a proud member of the Tiger band.
She later pursued her passion for helping others by attending Trumbull Nursing School and dedicating her career to caring for patients as a registered nurse at Trumbull Memorial Hospital for many years.
A proud breast cancer survivor, she faced life with courage, warmth and a sharp sense of humor. Suzie was known for her caring heart and, at times, a charmingly stubborn streak. Her kindness and wit left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Suzie found great joy in her family, especially in cheering on her grandsons — watching DJ play football for Canfield and enjoying videos of Mason wrestling at his school in Georgia.
She also had a lifelong love of animals, rescuing many over the years, all of whom thrived under her devoted care. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Sadie, and cat, Simon.
She is survived by her son, David Erickson; her daughter, Kimberly (Michael) Bordoni; her two cherished grandsons, David James “DJ” Erickson and Mason Bordoni; and her older brother, Bert (Jane) Elias.
Suzie joins her beloved parents, Ashley Boyd and Margaret (Ward) Elias, in eternal rest.
Her humor, compassion and resilient spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Lane Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, with Pastor Joel Theis officiating.
Friends may call 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest in Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
