Shirley A. Vestal 1943-2025

HUBBARD — Shirley A. Vestal, 82, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025.

Shirley was born July 4, 1943, in Cherry Tree, Pa., a daughter of Elmer C. and Lydia Ann Keith Nicholson.

She enjoyed camping and fishing.

Shirley was a self-employed tax accountant and later an insurance agent, holding a designation with LUTCF, and was a former member of Life Underwriters.

She was a member of Greenford Christian Church of Austintown (the former Four Mile Run Christian Church) and also a member of Corner House Christian Church of Hubbard.

Her husband, Charles R. Vestal, whom she married Nov. 4, 1961, and who passed away Feb. 7, 2018.

Shirley will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her family: her children, Dennis C. (Cynthia) Vestal of Hubbard, Daniel J. (Paula J.) Vestal of Reynolds, Pa., Charles J. (Mary Annette) Vestal of Hubbard, Alan W. (Kimberly) Vestal of Hubbard; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and son-in-law, Ronald Antoun of Hubbard. She also leaves her siblings: Ella Taylor of Hubbard and Thomas (Sharon) Nicholson of Girard.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Tammy L. Antoun; grandsons, Daniel Scott Vestal and Dennis R. Vestal; sisters, Bernice Nicholson and Laura Longshore; and brothers, Russell Nicholson, Robert Nicholson, Ronald C Nicholson, John Nicholson, James Nicholson, Marmon Nicholson and Ronald Nicholson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at Greenford Christian Church, 704 N. Four Mile Run Road, Austintown, OH 44515.

There will be calling hours 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home, and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, prior to the service, at Greenford Christian Church in Austintown.

Shirley will be laid to rest in Four Mile Run Cemetery in Austintown.
