Roger L. Massuri 1957-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Roger L. Massuri, an indomitable spirit who embraced life with passion and warmth, passed away Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, leaving behind a vibrant tapestry of memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.

Born May 20, 1957, in Morgantown, W.Va., Roger’s journey began with a strong foundation in the loving household of Rogers F. and Mildred June Reel Massuri.

A proud graduate of Girard High School, Class of 1975, he helped organize his 50th class reunion this year, which unfortunately he was unable to attend due to his illness.

Roger’s life was a testament to hard work and unwavering commitment. His career path took him from Jensen Lock and Alarm to his recent role as a customer service representative at Summit Racing, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and dedication to helping others.

Roger was a fervent admirer of the Ohio State Buckeyes football team. Not many could have been more of an avid fan than Roger, and his spirit of cheering them on. His love for classic cars was particularly embodied in his prized 1955 Chevy, a stunning relic that reflected not only his love for automobiles but also his appreciation for timeless craftsmanship. Beyond this, his John Deere riding mower stood as a symbol of his cherished moments spent tending to his yard.

A multifaceted individual, Roger was always at home on the bowling lanes, the golf course or the bocce courts, where friendships flourished through friendly competition. In his earlier years, Roger loved playing softball as a catcher for his team. His enthusiasm for life and dedication to leisure sports guided many joyful weekends where laughter and camaraderie were plentiful.

A devoted family man, Roger is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly A. Livingston Massuri, whom he married June 23, 1990, and their loving daughter, Madison Grace Massuri. He leaves behind his sister, Lou Ann Massuri, and a loving circle of in-laws — John and Kelly Livingston, Frank and Jackie Venzeio — along with many nieces and nephews who will carry forward his legacy of love, laughter and support.

Though Roger was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Kathleen Munche, and brothers, Steven L. Reel and Frank Massuri, the memories of shared smiles, stories and family gatherings will resonate in the hearts of all who loved him.

The celebration of Roger’s life will be held Oct. 9, 2025, at St. Rose Church, 48 Main St., Girard. The visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m.

As we bid farewell to a husband, father, brother and friend, let us remember Roger not just for his love of classic cars and sports, but for the warmth of his character and the joy he brought to those around him. In his own way, he reminded us to embrace life — right down to the last pitch on the bowling lane or the final swing on the golf course. Roger L. Massuri will be missed dearly, but his spirit will forever drive our passions and illuminate our paths.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Warren Family Mission, in Roger’s memory.
