Michael D. Russo 1977-2025

BOARDMAN — Michael Dominic Russo, 47, was carried off by angels to his Heavenly home on Friday, Oct. 10, 2025.

Born Dec. 8, 1977, in Youngstown, Michael was the beloved son of Angelo D. and Eve Nick Russo, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Though born with disabilities, Michael’s life was anything but limited. His family embraced him fully, always feeling blessed by his presence.

Michael had a rare gift: he could touch hearts with just a smile. His warmth, joy and spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was truly a light in the lives of many and will always be remembered for the love he gave so freely.

Michael was of the Catholic faith and was baptized at St. Dominic Church. He attended Leonard Kirtz School, MASCO and Javitt before moving to the Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities, where he spent the past six years, receiving compassionate care.

Michael leaves behind his loving mother, Eve Russo; his siblings, Lisa (Ian) Boykin, Angelo J. (Tiffany) Russo, Mark (Kim) Russo and Lori (Jim) Campbell; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Ilana, Ilivia and Ian Boykin, Angelo T. Russo, Kayla Hamilton, Abby and Morgan Russo, and James, Peyton, Brooke and Grady Campbell. He is also survived by many dear friends who will hold his memory close.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his father, Angelo D. Russo; his maternal grandparents, Carl and Martha Saviers; his paternal grandparents, Angelo and Mary Russo; and his niece, Madison Clark.

Family and friends may call 12:30 to 1:20 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman, where a funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m., officiated by Father Charles Rooney, O.P.

Burial will take place in Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
