Judy E. Stevens 1939-2025

COLUMBIANA — Judy Elaine Stevens passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, with her son, Larry Bruce Stevens, at her side.
Judy was born July 2, 1939, in Leetonia, to Margaret Snell and Willis N. Toland.
She grew up in Leetonia, attending Leetonia High School, until she married Larry A. Stevens on Dec. 29, 1955. They raised two boys, Jeffrey Alan and Larry Bruce Stevens.
Judy was not a sit-at-home mom; once the boys were in school, she joined the Kindergarten Mothers, became a room mother and joined Mothers’ Club and Women’s Club, serving as vice president. She was a proud supporter of the boys’ sports, Little League, football, baseball and all school activities. Not only was she a proud Clipper Fan, but also rooted for the Buckeyes, Browns, Indians and the Akron Zips.
Living on Lakeview, they were reserve seat holders at Firestone Stadium and enjoyed the park and kids of every age. She enjoyed bowling on the Thursday morning Early Bird league, competing with her sisters, Peggy and Bobby, becoming fast friends with members of her church and her bowling buddy, Anne Brown.
She worked at Lordstown General Motors until Larry and she retired. She was an avid reader, not only of the Bible but of best-selling authors. She was a weekly visitor to the Columbiana Library. She collected P. Buckley Moss paintings and loved to shop.
A lifelong member of the Methodist church community of Leetonia, Washingtonville and Columbiana, she was baptized in Leetonia Methodist Church. Larry and she joined Washingtonville Robbins United Methodist in 1962, and last joined First United Methodist Church of Columbiana. She served on various committees within the church, attending Sunday School, Bible study, serving ham dinners, working the consignment shop and collecting for Christina House.
She was a member of the Historical Society of Columbiana and Fairfield Township, serving as a trustee. She enjoyed the history of Columbiana, and served as a host during the summer months, selling tickets at the Street Fair.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; husband, Larry; and son, Jeffrey.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Xuan) Bruce; two granddaughters, Aurora and Ava; two grandsons, Joshua and Nathan; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at the Columbiana Cemetery Chapel, with Pastor Cyndi Midlick officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main St., Columbiana, OH 44408; or Christina House, in care of the church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
