Joseph E. Ifft 1959-2025

NILES — Joseph E. Ifft, 65, passed away peacefully, Friday on Oct. 10, 2025, at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh, Pa., following a courageous fight.

Joe was born Dec. 20, 1959, in Youngstown, the son of the late Joseph B. and Dolores Dominic Ifft.

He was a proud 1978 graduate of Warren JFK High School and dedicated over 35 years of service to RMI Titanium-RTI in Niles before his retirement.

A true sports enthusiast, Joe was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Guardians. He also greatly enjoyed golfing and staying connected with his wide circle of friends from the golf course, his school years, the gym and his regular retiree meetups at local restaurants.

Joe’s greatest pride was his family. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 43 years, Robin Monfredi Ifft, whom he married Aug. 7, 1982.

He is survived by his three devoted children: two sons, Joseph Ifft, and his wife, Michelle, of Hubbard, and Nicholas Ifft and his wife, DaLanie, of Canfield; and his daughter, Alyson Jones (P.J. Hovis) of Cortland.

Joe leaves behind 11 cherished grandchildren, Madison, Nathan, Dakota, Vinnie, Ryland, Macie, Logan, Brooklyn, Jaxson, Wyatt and Luchia.

He also is survived by his two brothers, Dan Ifft and his wife, Jill, of Dover, and Gary Ifft and his wife, Michelle, of Niles; his brother-in-law, Randy Monfredi and his wife, Joyce, of Dublin; and several nieces and nephews.

Joe’s family would like to thank all of his doctors, nurses and caregivers for their compassion and dedication. Joe was deeply and greatly loved and his spirit will live on through his wonderful family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph B. and Dolores Ifft.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at the funeral home. Friends also may call one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
