Elaine Klacik 1931-2025

CANFIELD — Elaine Klacik, 94, passed away peacefully, Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Born Feb. 4, 1931, in Youngstown, Elaine was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Katherine Katcher.

A 1949 graduate of Struthers High School, she continued her education at Youngstown State University.

On Nov. 24, 1951, Elaine married the love of her life, Michael Klacik. Their early years together took them to Columbus and later to Shreveport, Louisiana, as Mike served in the U.S. Air Force. In 1954, they returned to Ohio, where they built a beautiful life and family together. Elaine and Mike shared 60 loving years of marriage until his passing in 2011.

Elaine had a strong work ethic and a deep sense of dedication. She worked for several attorneys in Youngstown and served in civil service before joining the family business as a realtor with Klacik Real Estate.

Family was the heart of Elaine’s world. She never missed a moment — whether it was a birthday party, reunion, sporting event or a simple family dinner. She found joy in being present, and her unwavering support and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She leaves behind a legacy of love in her three sons, Michael (Linda) Klacik of Struthers, and David (Sue) Klacik and Robert (Mary Ann) Klacik, both of Canfield. She was a proud grandmother to Michael, Brittany, Katilyn, Kayla, David, Nicholas, Mary, Erik and Haylee; and a cherished great-grandmother to Kayce, Madelyn, Delaney, Bella, Bianca, Camila, David, John, Greyson, Logan and Wells. Elaine is also survived by her brother, Gerald (Betty) Katcher of Cleveland.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was preceded in death by her grandson, Matthew Klacik; her brother, Edward Katcher; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Klacik.
