Edward Goldner 1943-2025

AUSTINTOWN — With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Edward Goldner, a devoted father, loyal friend, U.S. Marine Corporal E4 and proud ironworker, who left us peacefully Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 82 years old.

Ed was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Youngstown, a son of Edward L. Sr. and Josephine Pagliardi Goldner.

He was a 1961 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, proudly served his country and became a structural ironworker, a job he loved for more than 40 years. He ultimately retired in 2005 from his elected position as business agent for Ironworkers Local 207.

He married the former Karen L. Radiovich on Nov. 14, 1978, and together they shared 41 years of marriage and many happy memories. She preceded him in death Nov. 14, 2019.

Ed was part of the Ironworkers Local 207 Motorcycle Club (MC) and was involved in the original construction of the 9/11 Memorial Park in Austintown. Ed was a man who never needed to be the loudest in the room to be heard. His presence alone spoke volumes. Whether it was lending a hand to a neighbor, sharing stories with old friends, or simply sitting quietly at a family gathering, Ed gave his time and heart without expecting anything in return. Semper Fi, Marine. Your legacy will live on — in steel, in service and in love.

Ed is survived by his children: Lisa Goldner, Mary Jo (Len) Yurcho, Leanne Goldner and Thomas (JoLynn) Goldner; five grandchildren, Andrew Yurcho, Sara (Jeff) Haefke, Dustin Allen Jr., Mason Emrich and Giovonni Goldner; and great-grandson, Russel Scott Haefke; sisters, Phyllis Henry and Judith Tesone.

Besides his wife, Ed was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Eugene Wibly and Edward Goldner III; two brothers, Donald and Thomas; and a sister, Elvina Goldner.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Lane Funeral Home, 5797 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, OH 44515. Friends may call 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Flowers are welcome, and memorial contributions may be made to Dollars Against Diabetes (DAD).
