Diane A. Armstrong 1949-2025

POLAND — Diane Arlene Grantz Armstrong, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born Feb. 12, 1949, in Conneaut, Diane was the daughter of James and Norma Jean Davis Grantz.

She grew up surrounded by love and laughter with her siblings, James (Teri), Brenda Grim, Daniel and Ronn, and treasured the bond she shared with her nieces and nephews.

Diane had a strong work ethic and a steady sense of responsibility that carried her through life. She devoted 32 years to the Ohio Turnpike Commission, retiring in 2010, and took great pride in a job well done and in the friendships she made along the way.

She married Patrick C. Armstrong on Oct. 18, 2000, and they remained devoted to one another until his passing, Aug. 3, 2024.

Known for her resolute, yet deeply loving nature, Diane was a devoted mother who led with both strength and compassion. She instilled in her children, Jo Ellen Albanese (Anthony) and L. Scott Saluga (Lisa), the values of responsibility, kindness and perseverance. Helping them grow into capable and caring adults was one of her greatest accomplishments and sources of pride. She was endlessly proud of her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hedderman (Lauren), Zachary Saluga (Kaitlyn), Colby Albanese and Chase Albanese, and her face would light up at the mention of her great-granddaughters, London and Hayden Saluga.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the friends and loved ones who surrounded Diane with care and kindness throughout her life. Her strength, warmth and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Diane will be remembered always — for her devotion to family, her quiet resilience and the love she gave so freely.

Per her wishes, there will be no services.

Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home handled all of the arrangements for the family.
