Deborah A. Sabel 1959-2025

AUSTINTOWN — Deborah “Debbie” A. Sabel, 65, died Oct. 7, 2025.
Debbie was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend.
She met a boy when she was 14 and began to date Bob when she was 16. From high school sweethearts to studying to be a nurse in the back of his truck while he was at the race-track — that was the beginning of their love story. They truly built a life around the love they had for each other, being married for 44 years.
Building a life together, they started a family of two boys, Rob, the oldest, and Craig, the youngest. She loved being a mother more than anything in life. She had a heart of gold for anyone she met. She was a mother to kids that weren’t even blood, and a friend to anyone who needed someone to talk to.
Debbie was a licensed practical nurse and she put it to use any way she could. She cared for the whole neighborhood, whether it was kids or the elderly; if you had a need, she was there that day without expecting anything in return. There was never a doubt how much she loved those around her.
She also loved Jesus and followed him with all her heart. From attending weekly church to praying every night, she always trusted in Him. She was a member of St. Christine Church for over 50 years.
She loved cooking, cleaning, building puzzles, babysitting grandkids, lying in the pool, going to kids’ / grandkids’ sporting events, gardening, going to the casino and having her family over for dinner. Debbie was a true giver to all and a humble servant of Jesus.
Her grandkids always held a special place in her heart. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She leaves behind six grandkids, Rylo Mocker, Ayden Sabel, Jayden Sabel, Jameson Sabel, Teigan Sabel and Zayne Sabel. There are so many other kids that called her mom, grandma and aunt, because she loved everyone.
She also leaves behind her husband, best friend and high school sweetheart, Robert Sabel; son, Robert (Ashley) Sabel; son, Craig (Tahnee) Sabel; stepfather, Jerry Rehak; brother, James (Anna) Dravec; brother-in-law, Thomas (Patty) Sabel; stepbrothers, Brad (Kandi) Rehak and David Rehak; and best friend, Debbie Griffing.
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at St. Christine Catholic Church. Mass will be held immediately after.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Friends of Fido in memory of Deborah Sabel.
Debbie will be truly missed forever. May God watch over her soul and guide her way. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying and pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” — Revelations 21:4
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4
