Beverly L. Schiavone 1929-2025
POLAND — Beverly Louise Schiavone, 96, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Beverly was born June 26, 1929, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Harold and Mary Holden Dean.
She was a 1947 graduate of Ursuline High School and went on to earn certification as a radiology technician from St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she worked for several years before dedicating herself fully to her family as a loving and devoted homemaker.
A lifelong Catholic, Beverly was a faithful member of Holy Family Parish in Poland.
Beverly was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker. She took pride in caring for her home and was known for her selfless nature, having lovingly cared for both her parents and in-laws in addition to her brother, Sam, during their times of need.
She had a passion for dancing and was a proud member of the 21 and Over Club at Idora Park in Youngstown. She also had a love for travel, especially cruises — her most memorable trips included Alaska and Italy, which she cherished sharing with family and friends.
Together with her husband, Beverly enjoyed attending operas, particularly performances by The New York Metropolitan Opera when they toured to Cleveland.
She is survived by her three children, Attorney Leonard D. (Gina) Schiavone of Youngstown, Deborah L. (Charles “Chuck”) Hnat of Poland and Elida Schiavone of Poland; and one cherished granddaughter, Tara L. Kish of Campbell; sister-in-law, Lenore Stair of Portage, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 73 years, Peter “Pat” A. Schiavone, whom she married June 27, 1951, and who passed away July 2, 2024; her granddaughter’s husband, Steve Kish, who passed away Sept. 22, 2025; and her brother, Harold “Sam” Dean Jr.
