Shirley L. Kelty 1946-2025

WARREN — Shirley Lee Kelty, 79, formerly of West Wilson Street, Struthers, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, at Armstrong Memory Care Assisted Living, surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 22, 1946, in Salem, Shirley was the daughter of the late Harry and Lucile Barnhouse Gee. She was a graduate of Canfield High School and a lifelong resident of the Mahoning Valley.
Shirley was a devoted member of the Church of Christ of Struthers, where her faith was a guiding light in her life. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She also loved trips to the beach, playing cards, baking, gardening and golfing with family and friends — pastimes that reflected her warm and joyful spirit.
She is survived by her five sons, John J. Kelty of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Timothy S. (Diane) Kelty of Canfield, Steven (Vivienne) Kurdziel of Struthers, Michael T. (Cheryl) Kelty of Cranberry Township, Pa., and Patrick A. (Erin) Kelty of Mount Gilead. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruth Weaver of Jasper, Georgia; and her sister-in-law, Rosie Gee of Canfield.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Thomas A. Kelty, whom she married April 10, 1972, and who passed March 1, 2021. She also was preceded by her brothers, Paul Gee and Herb Gee, and brother-in-law, Bill Weaver.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers. A second visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at the Church of Christ of Struthers, 5775 Poland-Struthers Road (state Route 616), Poland.
A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m.
Interment will take place in Poland Riverside Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Church of Christ of Struthers, 5775 Poland-Struthers Road, Poland, OH 44514 in Shirley’s memory.
