Robert J. Pesta 1937-2025
YOUNGSTOWN — Robert J. Pesta, 88, passed away peacefully at home early Tuesday morning, Sept. 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born July 30, 1937, in Campbell, the son of George and Virginia Johnson Pesta.
Starting at a young age, he worked for 47 years at Fazio’s and Giant Eagle as a retail grocery manager, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell.
Bob was an avid Cleveland fan, rooting for the Browns and Guardians. He was a giving person, always donating to various charities.
Bob will always be remembered lovingly by his wife, Nancy Clark Pesta, whom he married April 29, 1961; three children, Robert Pesta, Kristine (Aldo) Centofanti and Lynn (Derek) Novello; six grandchildren, Racheal (J.T.) Bechtel, Ryan (Danielle) Pesta, A.J. and Angela Centofanti, and Gino and Mario Novello; four great-grandchildren, Rosie, Cooper, Gracie and Brooks; two brothers, George and Joe Pesta; and a sister, Mary Ann Pesta.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his two brothers, Mike and John Pesta. Private services were held for the family.
