June M. Romeo 1930-2025

Born June 14, 1930, in Youngstown, June was the daughter of the late Oscar R. and Vera Pollcano McAllister. A lifelong resident of Struthers, she was a former member of Struthers Baptist Church, and a devoted homemaker who centered her life around her family.

June was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She had a gift for making others feel at home, often through her home-cooked meals and baked goods, which were especially cherished by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kindness extended beyond people — she had a gentle heart for animals as well.

She is survived by her four children, Nick J. (Kathleen) Romeo of Poland, Diane L. (Harold) Hutzen of Poland, Patricia A. Romeo of Struthers, with whom she made her home, and Jacqueline Marie (Richard) Tinsley of Sunset Beach, North Carolina. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Niki (Scott) Arkwright, Rebecca (Corey) Jones, Brian (Christina Chan) Hutzen, Kristin (Dale) Fisher, Kailyn Tinsley and Dylan Tinsley; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew Arkwright and Nathan Arkwright.

June was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, John P. Romeo, whom she married Nov. 4, 1948, and who passed on April 22, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Paul McAllister and Jack McAllister.

There will be no calling hours or services at this time. Arrangements are being handled by Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers.
