James E. Carnes 1945-2025
DIAMOND — It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James Edward Carnes on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at the age of 79.
James was born Sept. 7, 1945, in Youngstown, the son of Irving and Opal Carnes.
James was a loving husband and father to his wife, Janet, and their sons, Scott and Bryan.
He was a graduate of Jackson-Milton High School, where he enjoyed playing drums in the band. He also loved playing music with his friends in a band and dancing.
James served in the United States Navy.
James was a longtime employee of the Don Booth Company, followed by working for Weiland Estates and Things Remembered.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed visiting with friends and joking around.
James is survived by his wife, Janet; his sons, Scott (Tracy) and Bryan; and his grandchildren, Tommy and Caty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Opal; and his siblings, Irving (Pooch), Wilford and Doris.
Visitation will be held 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, at the Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls.
Inurnment will follow in North Jackson Cemetery with full military honors.
