Florence A. Hoelzel 1932-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Florence Ann Hoelzel, 93, died early Wednesday evening, Aug. 27, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.
She was born April 11, 1932, in Niles, a daughter of Harry and Ethel White Johnstone.
Florence was a 1950 graduate of Jackson-Milton High School and worked as a welder for General Motors in Lordstown for 26 years, retiring in 1997.
She married Robert J. Hoelzel on July 31, 1972. Together they shared 26 years of marriage and many wonderful memories. He preceded her in death, July 31, 1998.
Florence is survived by four children, Kim Balser of Youngstown, Robin Webster-Powell of Brookfield, Robert (Shelley) Hoelzel Jr., of Canfield and William (Christine) Hoelzel of Austintown. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Florence was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Beth Delmark; two brothers, Richard “Harry” and Ted Johnstone; and three sisters, Louise Johnstone, Mabel Verner and Ruth Lucille, who died in infancy.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, at Lane Funeral Home, Mineral Ridge Chapel, 1350 N. Canfield Niles Road, Mineral Ridge.
Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband in Niles Union Cemetery.
