Dragan Popovich 1981-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — It is with great sadness that the family of Dragan Popovich announces his peaceful passing, Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at the age of 44, surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 28, 1981, in Youngstown, Dragan was the beloved son of Vinko and Vera Popovich.

He graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1999 and went on to attend Youngstown State University.

Over the years, Dragan formed lasting friendships through his work at Rulli Brothers, H.H. Gregg and Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods.

Dragan was deeply devoted to his Serbian Orthodox heritage, culture and community. He found great joy in music, spending time with his family and a wide circle of close friends, and caring for his cherished dog, Sasha. He will be remembered for his generous and loving spirit, kind heart, unmistakable laugh and sharp sense of humor.

He is survived by his parents, Vinko and Vera; his brother, Stevan Popovich; his sister, Sonja Popovich; and his nephew, Vincent Popovich (Emily and their children).

He was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home. A viewing hour will be 10 to 11 a.m. before the funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at Old Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 420 N. Raccoon Road, Austintown.

The family requests that only family members go to the cemetery.

Dragan’s presence, warmth and laughter will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial monetary donations may be made to Old Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church in his honor.

Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home handled all of the arrangements for the family.
