Dorothy L. Kish 1942-2025

CAMPBELL — Dorothy Louise “Dee” Kish, 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025, at Hospice House in North Lima.

Dee was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Youngstown, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Reiter Nardelli, and was raised in Campbell.

A proud graduate of Campbell Memorial High School’s Class of 1960, Dee went on to attend beautician school, where she discovered her gift for helping others look and feel their best. She became a lifelong hairdresser, a profession that suited her perfectly, as it allowed her to share her warmth, creativity and kindness with everyone she met.

Soon after graduating, Dee met the love of her life, Milan “Paul” Kish. They were married Aug. 31, 1963, beginning a union filled with devotion, laughter and unwavering love.

Aug. 31, 2025, the day of her passing, would have marked their 62nd wedding anniversary together; however, Paul preceded her in death, Sept. 23, 2024, leaving Dorothy facing the prospect of her first anniversary without him.

True to the deep bond they shared, Dorothy did not let that day pass in sorrow. Instead, she chose a different path — one of eternal love and reunion. Rather than face their anniversary apart, she joined Paul in heaven, where together they now celebrate the love story that began here on earth and continues forever.

Over the years, Dee worked many other jobs that became part of her journey. She was loved by co-workers and customers alike at Pallazo’s Restaurant, Brown Derby Restaurant, Giant Eagle, Sam’s Club and Dollar General. Most especially, she cherished her time at her son Chuck’s business, Best Catch Seafood, where she was affectionately called “Mom” and “The Fish Lady.” No matter where she worked, Dorothy was remembered for her friendly spirit, warm smile and the joy she brought into the lives of others.

Dorothy’s talents extended beyond her career into the many hobbies she enjoyed. She had a creative spirit, often dabbling in woodworking and crafting with her husband, Paul. From wedding boxes and centerpieces to decor rentals for special occasions, her creations brought beauty and love to countless celebrations. She delighted in visiting local flea markets to sell her products and also spent time as a Mary Kay representative, helping others feel confident and cared for.

At the very heart of Dorothy’s life was her family, the source of her greatest joy and deepest pride. She lived as the truest example of selflessness, carrying each role — wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, Nana, great-Nana and friend — not as a duty, but as a calling she embraced with love. Affectionately known as “Nana,” she could always be found with a smile on her face while cheering at her grandchildren’s sporting events, attending their school activities, or simply basking in the company of her great-grandchildren. Her devotion extended to her three beloved feline companions, Stinky, Trouble and Unique, who brought her comfort and companionship.

Dorothy was the matriarch of her family, the steady source of love, guidance and quiet acts of kindness that shaped the lives of those around her. Loving and serving her family was not just something she did – it was who she was and her legacy of immeasurable love and devotion will live on in every life she touched.

She will be deeply missed and always remembered by her three sons, Chuck (Sherri) Kish of Poland, Paul Kish of New Middletown and Jeff (Lisa) Kish of Campbell; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Taylor) Kish, Taylor (Alberta) Kish, Brandon (Hannah) Kish, Jenna, Jacqueline, Katherine, Zachary and Addisen Kish; three great-grandchildren, Crue, Cleo and Nyla Kish; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy; her husband, Paul; her sisters and brother-in-law, Patty (Lou) Agnone and Charlene Nardelli; brother, Chucky Jr.; and niece, Suzy DeCola.

The Kish family has entrusted their loved one to the care of the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell, where they will receive friends and family 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2025.
