Doris Saloom 1936-2025
CANFIELD — Doris Saloom, 89, beloved wife of Emil Saloom, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, Aug. 28, 2025, at Continuing Health Care of Boardman.
Doris was born June 10, 1936, in Steelton, Pa., the daughter of the late George and Stana Vorkapich Mraovich.
Doris graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1954.
Doris met her true love, Emil Saloom, and they were able to celebrate 59 years of wedded bliss on July 30, 2025.
Doris was employed for 42 years as vice president of WKBN Corporation and also was responsible for the Williamson Foundation.
She leaves behind her husband, Emil Saloom, and her brother, Donald Mraovich. Also, sister-in-law, Janalyn Saloom. She leaves nephews, Thomas, Philip (Pam), Joseph (Lisa), Chris and Craig Saloom; great-nephews, Evan, Sean Thomas and Cole Saloom; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Joseph, Edward and Louis Saloom, and sisters-in-law, Georgette and Phyllis Saloom.
She leaves behind several cousins in Sebring, North Canton and Cleveland, and several dear friends and neighbors.
A memorial gathering will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025, at Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road, Youngstown, OH 44511.
Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home handled all of the arrangements for the family.
