David B. Ramsbottom 1955-2025

PROSPER, Texas — It is with great sadness that the siblings of David Bradley Ramsbottom of Prosper, Texas, formerly of Struthers, announce his passing on Friday, June 20, 2025.

Dave was born Aug. 12, 1955, in Youngstown, the oldest child of Bradley and Dorothy Young Ramsbottom.

Dave shared a wide array of hobbies and interests with his family and friends, including traveling, reading, golfing with his buddies, sports, talking politics, cars — especially Corvettes — reading and the weather. He loved ice cream, raisin cookies and barbecue.

Instilled with a strong work ethic from an early age, Dave graduated from Struthers High School in 1973 and pursued full-time studies at YSU, while simultaneously working full time at General Extrusions, later continuing his career at Sharon Steel.

Dave graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1979 and an MBA in finance in 1986. He began his career with Lennox in Columbus in 1987, held various roles over the years and relocated to Texas in 1993 to continue his professional journey with the company, ultimately retiring in 2015.

Dave and his wife, Michelle, were married May 24, 2017. Together, they loved to travel and attend the grandchildren’s cheer events and ball games; he enjoyed helping them with math homework and vacationing together.

Dave had a mind for numbers and a heart for helping. Whether it be guidance with jobs, taxes, advice on retirement, budgeting or managing the financial details of our parents’ accounts when they passed, he handled and explained it all with ease and grace (translation: just sign by the sticky note). His Excel spreadsheets were legendary. A few months back, when he was looking for a planner to keep track of his meds and couldn’t find one he liked, he created his own spreadsheet. He organized his medical records in three-ring binders. Always in search of solutions for any problem, no detail escaped him.

We will always cherish the great memories we have, such as the house on Renee Drive where we all grew up, spending summers with the Young cousins in Dilltown, driving the station wagon to beach destinations and attending the Corvette show in Carlisle, Pa., where he purchased his 1962 Corvette.

Dave persevered through myriad health issues over the last 10 years. In the end, he couldn’t outrun the curse of hereditary heart disease. He kept on keepin’ on when we all wondered how he found the energy to keep fighting. In the end, his will to keep living couldn’t overcome the physical toll on his body. Gone too young and too soon, we pray now Dave can truly rest in the peace he deserves.

Surviving are his loving wife, Michelle, and her children and grandchildren, to whom he was a beloved father figure, Brandon, Emilee and Kailee and son-in-law, Bandar Arnous; grandchildren, Ryan, Ayden, Charlee, Jade, Leo and Rylie; children from his first marriage, Kate and Scott; devoted siblings, Jon, and his wife, Lori; Bob, and his wife, Mary; and Barb, and her husband, Tim; treasured aunts, Jeannie and Joanne; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two cousins, and several aunts and uncles.

A private gathering was held to celebrate Dave’s life and legacy.

We are deeply grateful for your kind expressions of sympathy and support during this time.
