Alice Ferraro
BOARDMAN — Alice “Ali” Ferraro, a cherished soul known for her unwavering kindness and generous spirit, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2025.
Born March 28, 1956, in the heart of Youngstown, Ali lived a life marked by faith, love and more than a touch of Buckeye pride.
Ali’s professional journey began as a proud 1974 graduate of Struthers High School, where she served her classmates as the senior class secretary. Her commitment to service and community shone brightly even in those early years, setting a precedent for a lifetime of thoughtful engagement.
Following high school, Ali’s professional path led her to RMI Titanium in Niles, where she dedicated more than 30 years as an administrative assistant. Her colleagues remember her as the heartbeat of the office — a person who brought both efficiency and warmth to all tasks. After her fulfilling career at RMI, Ali embraced her love for people as a sales associate at Cardsmart in the Boardman Plaza. There, she delighted in assisting customers, sharing stories and renewing old acquaintances with her ever-present smile.
In 2000, she married John Ferraro Jr. and spent many happy and fulfilling years with him until his passing in 2020. From the start of their union, Ali immediately embraced John’s family as her own.
Ali was preceded in death by her parents, Norma and Paul Stopnick; her husband, John; and her stepson, John.
She is survived by her brother, Michael (Cheryl) Stopnick, and sister, Nancy (David) Stewart, both of Florida. She also leaves behind a nephew, Daniel (Francie) Stopnick, and her “furry nephew,” Sawyer; stepson, Tony (Martina) Ferraro; stepdaughter, Michelle (Robert) Babik; sister-in-law, Linda (Nick) Pacura; grandchildren, Lindsey Ferraro, Ryan Babik, Anthony Ferraro, Jesse Ferraro, Eric Ferraro, Joey Ferraro, Sarah Ferraro and Elizabeth Ferraro; and great-grandchildren, Bonnie Jean and Miles.
A devout Roman Catholic, she lived her beliefs through acts of kindness and a steadfast commitment to her church. Her life was an embodiment of the Christian virtues of charity, hope and love, and she found great joy in her faith.
Among her many passions, Ali was an avid fan of Ohio State Buckeyes football. Her enthusiasm for the team was infectious, and she traveled to Columbus on numerous occasions to cheer them on. Ali’s love of sports also extended to the golfing world, where she was an ardent admirer of PGA champion Scottie Scheffler. Her weekends often featured the quiet excitement of watching a golf telecast, celebrating the finesse and skill of the players she so respected.
Ali’s zest for life was further exemplified by her love for QVC. Not only did she spend time enjoying the channel’s offerings, but she also made a memorable visit to the studios to witness a live telecast. It was there that Ali’s culinary talents shone through, winning her first place in a cooking contest hosted by QVC host David Venable — a testament to her spirit of adventure and willingness to embrace new experiences.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Ali would describe her as the epitome of kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness. Her presence was a blessing to all who crossed her path, and her legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those she has left behind.
As we say goodbye, we take solace in the knowledge that her journey continues in a place of eternal peace and joy. Her light, which so brightly illuminated our world, now shines from above, guiding us with the memory of her profound compassion and faith.
Visitation will take place at 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman, followed by Mass at 10 a.m.
A private interment will occur in Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
In lieu of flowers, material tributes can be made in Ali’s memory to your favorite charity.
