William Duchek 1935-2025

POLAND — William Duchek, 90, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at Hospice House in Poland.
He was born June 23, 1935, in Campbell, son of the late Robert A. and Ann C. Crowll Duchek.
William was a 1953 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and a 1961 graduate of the New Castle School of Trades with an electrician degree.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, airman 1st class, from 1954-1957, and served in Japan.
He was employed with Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. from 1953-1961, and with the Koppers Chemical Plant in Youngstown from 1961-1988 as a supervisor, retiring in 1988 when the local plant closed.
William enjoyed woodworking, going to Mountaineer Casino and watching his favorite sports team, the Cleveland Browns.
He was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish-Holy Trinity Church in Struthers for over 60 years.
He is survived by his sons, William (Laurie) Duchek of Poland, Robert (Teresa) Duchek of Struthers and David (Shellie) Duchek of Poland. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, William was recently preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Mary Agnes Garchar Duchek, whom he married Feb. 9, 1957, and who passed away Aug. 10, 2025; and a sister, Roberta (Morris) Fier.
Friends will be received from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., Struthers, OH 44471.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the medical team, especially the nurses at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, for the care they provided during his final illness.
