Shirley A. Nicholson 1938-2025
CANFIELD — Shirley Ann Nicholson, 86, died late Sunday morning, Aug. 10, 2025, at the Windsor House at Canfield.
She was born Dec. 18, 1938, in Connellsville, Pa., the daughter of Carl J. and Helen F. Warwick Mulac.
Shirley was a 1956 graduate of Dunbar High School in Pennsylvania and spent her adult life as a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.
She married Ronald D. Nicholson in January 1958. Together, they shared 52 years of marriage and many happy memories. He preceded her in death, Jan. 15, 2011.
Shirley enjoyed the outdoors, especially walking with her friends. She also was an avid bowler and enjoyed making ceramics. Her greatest joys were cheering on her grandsons at their various sporting activities and spending time with family and friends at her family campground, Crystal Springs in Linesville, Pa.
She is survived by two children, Ronald (Renee) Nicholson Jr. of Canfield and Kimberly (John) Bodenbender of Columbus. She also leaves behind three grandsons, Nicholas Bodenbender, Ronald Nicholson and Ryan (Ashlee) Nicholson, and two great-granddaughters, Charli and Franki.
Besides her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carl J. Mulac II.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, in the mausoleum chapel at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
Immediately following services, Shirley will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Ronald.
