Michael L. Wilfong Sr. 1963-2025

CAMPBELL — Michael L Wilfong Sr., 61, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Thursday, Aug. 21, 2025.
Michael was born Aug. 28, 1963, in Warren, a son of Earl William and Mildred Ruth Smith Wilfong.
He was a 1981 graduate of Howland High School and a lifelong resident of the Youngstown area. Michael served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 17, 1981, until Feb. 4, 1983.
Michael married the love of his life, the former Cynthia Ray, on May 28, 1988.
He worked as a maintenance mechanic at Fresh Mark in Salem.
Michael was of the Catholic faith.
Michael was a big fan of Ohio State football and loved going to Cleveland Guardians and Browns games. He enjoyed working on cars, riding roller coasters and going to concerts. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Michael will be deeply missed and always remembered by his wife, Cynthia; his children, Ashley (Ryan) Splenda of Monroeville and Michael (Ashley) Wilfong Jr. of Canton; his brother, Bill (Natalie) Wilfong of North Carolina; his sisters, Patty (Mark) Johnson of West Virginia and Donna Wilfong of Warren; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved. He also leaves his beloved dogs, Harley and Cocoa, along with all of his fur grandbabies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Joe and Delores Ray.
The Wilfong family has entrusted Michael’s care to the Wasko Funeral Home in Campbell.
Calling hours will be 10 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025, at the funeral home, followed by a prayer service at noon.
Michael will be laid to rest in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville.
