Kathleen M. DiPietro 1947-2025

YOUNGSTOWN — Kathy M. DiPietro passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 29, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.

She was a devoted sister, loving aunt and kind-hearted friend, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, generosity and quiet strength.

Born March 20, 1947, and raised in a family that deeply valued connection and compassion, Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Perry and Rita Hannigan DiPietro.

She was a proud graduate of Ursuline High School in 1965 and went on to serve her community through a long and dedicated career with the United States Postal Service before retiring.

Kathy was known for her deep love of family. She cherished the time she spent with her sister, Chris Bartol, and Chris’s husband, Mark; her brother, Jeff DiPietro, and his wife, Cathy; and her dear niece and nephew, Ashley and Ryan DiPietro.

Kathy found joy in the everyday moments — laughing with family, offering advice, sharing meals and simply being present.

A member of St. Christine Parish, Kathy’s faith guided her actions and her unwavering commitment to kindness. She was a passionate reader who could often be found lost in a good book, and she took special pride in being a loving “pet mom” to the many cats who brought her companionship over the years. Her generosity touched many, whether through small gestures or her constant willingness to help others.

Kathy will be remembered for her giving heart, her loyalty to those she loved and her quiet but unwavering strength.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no calling hours or formal services, and private burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Her family asks that those who knew Kathy take a moment to honor her memory in their own personal way — perhaps by curling up with a good book, spending time with loved ones or showing kindness to an animal in her honor.

Kathy’s spirit lives on in the many lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed.

The family has requested that any material tributes be made in Kathy’s name to Animal Charities of Ohio, 4140 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward J. Fox & Sons Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Family and friends may visit www.foxfuneralhome.org to view this obituary and to give condolences to the DiPietro family.
