Judith Carson 1937-2025
POLAND — Judith “Judy” George Carson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old.
Judy was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Washington, Pa., the daughter of the late Dr. William D. and Gladys Wilson George. She grew up in Bentleyville, Pa., where she attended public schools and graduated in 1955. After completing a secretarial course at Duff’s Iron City Business Institute in Pittsburgh, she began her career with Fairmount Supply in Washington, Pa.
In 1959, she married the love of her life, William “Bill” P. Carson, and together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage. Judy later found great joy working at PegMar Preschool for 18 years, where her love for children and caring nature shone brightly.
A woman of deep faith, Judy was a longtime member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church in Youngstown until its closing, after which she joined Westminster Presbyterian Church in Boardman, where she remained an active and devoted member.
Judy had a passion for sewing and crafting, and her creativity brought joy to many. She was known for making thoughtful, handmade gifts and cards, and one of her proudest creations was a baptismal dress made from her own wedding gown fabric for her youngest granddaughter.
She is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” P. Carson; her children, Cathy Carson of Poland and James (Peggy) Carson of Hudson; and four cherished grandchildren, Casey (Dan) Tebbutt, Carmen (Cameron) Lodge, Will Carson and Callie Metzger (fiancee of Steve Courts).
Family and friends may call 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Adam Rodgers.
Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Boardman.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Judy’s memory to Westminster Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, OH 44512.
The Carson family would like to thank Buckeye Hospice for the love, care and support given to Judy and her family during this time.
Arrangements are entrusted to Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. Visit www.beckerobits.com to share memories and condolences with Judy’s family.
