Judith Ann Martin 1941-2025
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Judith Ann Maga Martin, a wonderful wife and mother, died Sunday, July 27, 2025, in New Port Richey, Florida, while under hospice care, with her family by her side.
Judy was born Sept. 19, 1941, in Youngstown, to Arnold and Helen Repasky Maga.
After graduating from Rayen High School, she went on to cosmetology school, becoming a hairdresser.
She met her husband, Tom, while working at the candy counter at Woolworth’s, and on Jan. 25, 1964, they were married at St. Casimir Church in Youngstown. Judy went on to work at Ohio Bell as a telephone operator before becoming a mother and staying home to raise her children.
Her last job was as a bookkeeper for Penn Ohio College before retiring.
Judy and Tom moved to Florida in 2001 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. She was very active and involved as a member of the Red Hat Society and the Timber Greens Bowling League, while also taking tai chi and water aerobics classes. At the young age of 60, Judy took swimming lessons and became an amazing swimmer, swimming many laps daily, sometimes swimming up to one mile. Baking brought her joy, as she loved to see her family enjoy her delicious baked goods. The annual trips back to Youngstown to see her family and longtime friends were something she enjoyed very much. She tried to plan her visit around the Repasky Annual Family Reunion, an event she held near and dear to her heart.
Judy was a devoted Catholic, attending weekend Mass at St. Christine Parish, when living in
Youngstown, and St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, while living in New Port Richey.
Judy is survived by her three children, sons, Tom (Angel) Martin and Larry (Tamara)
Martin; and daughter, Laurie Martin. She also has five loving grandchildren, Tommy, John, Ryan, Kara and Matt (Jaida) Martin.
Her loving husband, Tom Martin, preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 2023. He died a couple of months before their 60th anniversary.
Judy was buried during a private ceremony with her family by her side Friday, Aug. 8.
Her final resting place will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens in New Port Richey, Florida, next to her husband.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
