Joyce A. Fanaza 1939-2025

POLAND — Joyce Ann Fanaza, 86, went home to the Lord on Friday, Aug. 8, 2025. She passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born and raised on a farm in Newton, W.Va. She was born March 15, 1939, to the late Lee and Nannie Nester Ellis.
She is fondly remembered by her daughter, Dee Dee (Rick) Sweeney; grandson and light of her life, Justin; son, Greg Fanaza; brother, Lane Ellis; sisters, Jean Brannon, Martha Ellis Cox, Judy DePue and Sheila Ellis Minardi; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Ronda Mondell Smith and Virginia Kathryn; and brothers, Delano, Roy, Kent and Frank Ellis. She lived with the anticipation of seeing the Lord’s glorious face and being reunited with her loved ones.
With a passion for decorating, Joyce loved flowers, plants, arts and crafts. She was a member of Poland Village Baptist Church and played the piano for many years. She was a devoted Christian and had a strong faith. She loved people fiercely and couldn’t wait to spend time with friends and family, especially her precious grandson. She will be dearly missed by so many. Services will be held privately for her family.
