Joseph A. Babyak 1947-2025
BOARDMAN — Joseph A. Babyak, 77, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025.
Joe was born Oct. 14, 1947, in Youngstown, the son of the late Andrew and Helen Kubina Babyak. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Joe served his country honorably and carried that sense of dedication and strength into every aspect of his life.
Joe married the love of his life, Jean Lochrane Babyak, on Nov. 18, 1967. They shared 57 wonderful years of marriage.
He was a devoted father to his three daughters, Becky (Dr. Tom) Burkert, Kathy (Chad) Miller and Sherri (Matt) Ward. He also was a beloved grandfather to nine grandchildren who brought endless joy to his life, Ryan, Dr. Jared (fiancee, Dr. Hollis) and Sarah Burkert, Connor, Aidan and Logan Miller, and Austin and Alex Ward. Joe rarely missed a game, a match or a moment — cheering them on and sharing in their successes. His life truly revolved around his family, especially his grandchildren and their many sporting events.
He dedicated over 40 years to AT&T, where he worked as a skilled troubleshooter, known for his problem-solving expertise and commitment to keeping people connected.
Joe was known for his love of sports, especially golf, racquetball and baseball. He also had a gift for fixing things, often lending a helping hand or solving a problem with calm confidence and a steady hand.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara Babyak; his brother, Robert (Paulette) Babyak; and his sister-in-law, Bonnie Babyak, widow of his late brother, Ronald. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his warm presence and generous spirit.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Babyak and Andrew Babyak.
Joe’s legacy of love, loyalty and dedication will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
