Helen M. Morocco 1934-2025

MINNEAPOLIS — Helen Mary Morocco passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at home with her family at her side.
Helen was born Nov. 4, 1934, in Lincoln, Pa., to Nicholas and Mary Gentile Quattro. As a young child, Helen moved to Struthers, where she attended Struthers High School.
She married Anthony “Poochy” Morocco on May 16, 1953.
She was a devoted member of St. Anthony Auxiliary, where she served in many positions. She was an avid bowler with St. Anthony singles and mixed doubles teams, attending many state championship games where she bowled with family and great friends. During the summer, she spent her weekdays at the lake and weekends at Farmer Jim’s lake with family.
Helen treasured her Christmas get-togethers the most at her brother’s and sister’s houses. A loving and generous hostess, she cherished preparing dinners for her family and friends, especially during the holidays, creating lasting memories with her delicious meals and warm hospitality.
Professionally, she worked as operations manager for Daylight Cleaning Services.
In 1985, she and Tony moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she embraced the excitement of her new home, especially enjoying her favorite pastimes, playing video poker machines and bingo. Here she met another group of lifelong friends.
Helen was a member of Guardian Angel Cathedral, where she attended daily Mass and served as a Eucharistic minister for 30 years, faithfully supporting her church community with compassion and grace.
She worked at LowestFare.com as a travel agent, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed the benefits of this job, travelling to many places. She also enjoyed doing cross-stitch and beading jewelry. She enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, even though they lived away from her. Nothing was more important to her than spending time with and cooking for them.
Helen leaves her children, Karen (Mike) Carano of Minneapolis, Kathy Morocco and Shirley Eusanio of Las Vegas and son, Tony (Robin) of Phoenix, Arizona; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren to cherish her memories. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins, who fondly called her Aunt Dolly; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Soltis of Cleveland; and a brother-in-law, Pat Morocco of San Diego, California.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Morocco, to whom she was married for 55 years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lucy Damico, Ann Van Odenhouve, Jenny Domico, James Quattro, Laura George, Frank Quattro, Josephine Kostelnak, Julie Visingardi and Tony Quattro.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Brighton Hospice of Las Vegas and Minneapolis. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit and love for the simple joys of life. Whether gathered around the kitchen table, on the bowling lanes or seated at her favorite machine, she brought joy, laughter, love and warmth wherever she went.
A Mass in her remembrance will be celebrated 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Wayzata, Minnesota.
