Filomena Edwards 1922-2025

Edwards was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Struthers, a daughter of Joseph and Anna Marie Pacifico Corvino.

She was a 1940 graduate of Struthers High School and retired from General Electric in 1982. She also worked for General Fireproofing as a riveter during the war.

Her beloved husband, Owen Paul Edwards, whom she married Sept. 24, 1975, passed away June 3, 2008.

Mrs. Edwards was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish-St. Nicholas Church, its Altar Rosary Society, K of C ladies, St. Nicholas Seniors and St. Anthony Auxiliary. She also enjoyed her card clubs with neighbors and friends.

Minnie was preceded in death by her husband and parents, also six sisters, Mabel Guerriero, Jennie Vespasian, Rose Rouzzo, Christine Salpietro, Theresa Colla and Josephine DeMain; and two brothers, Anthony and James Corvino.

Surviving Minnie are four generations of nieces and nephews. She kept track of them in her genealogy book and was very proud of them.

Respecting Minnie’s wishes, there were no calling hours. Private funeral services were held Aug. 10, 2025, at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.
